El Boroque, Cadiz

This is the place for poets, painters and bird watchers. High on the hill in El Boroque, just off the Routa del Brandy, sits this pretty 4 bedroom villa. When I visited, to take the photographs, my eyes were diverted directly above by the cry of an eagle. Five imperial eagles circled in a blue sky so clear that you could see the moon although it was past mid day. The sound of nature is all around, birds singing, crickets chirping and the wind gently rustling leaves.

This is not the kiss me quick Blackpool on sea that most of the Med has come. This is real Spain. Fine local authentic restaurants serving the best Spanish food at reasonable prices. Within the Sherry triangle, not a place where you are going to find lobster coloured tourists swilling liters of larger in mock English/Irish pubs. This is a fine opportunity to observe and enjoy this secret Spain.

The light here has that quality that inspires many artists to make this area their home. Also the history can only inspire, just a few miles from the white hill town (pueblo blanco) of Medina Sidonia and about 15kms from the sea and Chiclana you are spoiled for choice. Medina Sidonia is where the Duke of Sidonia planned the Armada against England in the 16th century. Located to the South east is the historic city of Cadiz perhaps the oldest continually inhabited City in Europe.

Accommodation

I was immediately impressed by the extra large (12 x 8) swimming pool that is on a patio terrace above the main house. Walking around the house there is plenty of space to sunbath and and dine el fresco at the outside dinning area.

Inside the home has 2 bathrooms and four good sized bedrooms

The living area is open plan and large consisting of a modern marble topped fitted kitchen, modern cooker,fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine

There is a breakfast Bar and a dinning Table. At the other end of this space is the lounge area with two comfortable sofas and Sky (free view). This whole area is light and airy giving a sensation of tranquility.
